Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coder III to perform facility coding
and abstracting functions for outpatient cases.
Key Responsibilities
Perform coding and abstracting for various outpatient cases,
including Emergency Department and Ambulatory Surgery
Ensure accurate coding of accounts and compliance with relevant
guidelines
Maintain knowledge of coding systems and reimbursement schemes
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required
Completion of a 2-year program and coding certification from AHIMA
or AAPC
3-4 years of acute care coding experience in a hospital setting
Knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT-4 classification systems
Successful completion of internal VIR training program and
certification as a CIRCC
